Scholarships

The application period for scholarships is now closed. Stay tuned for more information on our 2022 scholarship recipients. Thank you for your continued support of the Delta Zeta Alumni Foundation.  


The Foundation presents three scholarships annually as follows: 


Mr. & Mrs. Reginald E.H. Butts Scholarship

A $1,000 scholarship will be presented to Central State University (CSU) student from the

Cleveland, Ohio area that qualifies, to cover a portion of their college expenses. All CSU students are

eligible to apply. Eligible students must satisfy the following requirements: 


  • Completed application 
  • Be in good standing with the University,
  • Be a United States citizen,
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (based on a 4.0 grade scale). 
  • A 750-1000 word essay on one of the following topics: Achievement, Plans for the future or Why  I consider myself a role model


The Dr. Arthur E. Thomas Scholarship

Five (5) $2,000 scholarships to Central State University (CSU) students that qualify, to cover a portion  of their college expenses. All CSU students are eligible to apply. Eligible students must satisfy the following requirements: 


  • Completed application 
  • Be in good standing with the University,
  • Be a United States citizen,
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (based on a 4.0 grade scale). 
  • A 750-1000 word essay on one of the following topics: Achievement, Plans for the future or Why  I consider myself a role model

 


The Peter and Nikeya Gibbs Scholarship

One (1) scholarship will be awarded to students based on at least one of the following demographics: 


  • Caribbean background, especially Trinidad and Tobago, 
  • New York City 
  • Member of ROTC   
  • Accounting major 


Eligible students must be a sophomore, junior or senior and  complete an application, be in good standing with the University, and have a cumulative GPA 2.7 -2.99. A 1 page paper on why they chose their field of study and what they intend to do after college must accompany the application.. Applicants must  agree to a video conference with Peter and Nikeya Gibbs .

Tribute to a Legend

The brothers of Delta Zeta mourn the loss of an icon and brother, Dr. Arthur E. Thomas, President Emeritus of Central State University. To support the continuing legacy of Dr. Thomas, we humbly request that donations be made to the Delta Zeta Alumni Foundation Inc C/O the Dr. Arthur E. Thomas scholarship fund.
